Getting started after buying hosting: your first-hour checklist
Just bought Shared, Cloud, or WordPress Hosting? Here's what to do in the first hour to get your site live.
Just bought Shared, Cloud, or WordPress Hosting from myPandos? Here's what to do first.
1. Find your service and log in to Plesk
Sign in at https://dash.mypandos.io, open Services, and select your new hosting service. Use the quick tools to sign in to Plesk with one click, or follow the login link in your welcome email — see “How to log in to your hosting control panel” for the full walkthrough.
2. Point your domain to myPandos
If you registered your domain with myPandos, this is usually already set up for you. If you're bringing a domain from another registrar, you'll need to update its DNS or nameservers to point to myPandos — check your domain's settings in the dash, or contact [email protected] if you're not sure how.
3. Upload your website, or request a free migration
Two options:
- Upload it yourself — using FTP/SFTP or Plesk's File Manager. See “Uploading your website” for step-by-step instructions.
- Already have a live site elsewhere? Open your hosting service in the dash and choose Request Migration. Tell us your website's URL, current provider, and control panel, and our team migrates it for you at no charge.
4. Set up email
Create mailboxes for your domain from the Email tab of your hosting service in the dash — see “Managing your email from your myPandos Dashboard”. Once created, see the Email section of the Knowledge Base for setting up webmail and mail apps on your devices.
5. Install an SSL certificate
A free Let's Encrypt certificate takes a few clicks in Plesk — see “How to install or renew a free SSL certificate in Plesk”.
Good to know
Your hosting plan includes a weekly backup as standard, so you have a safety net while you set things up. If you get stuck at any step, contact [email protected].
