Moving your email to MyPandos
Switching to MyPandos mail from another provider keeps your existing messages. Here's what to expect.
Switching to MyPandos mail from another provider (Gmail, Microsoft 365, cPanel, Plesk, or another host) keeps your existing messages. Here's what to expect.
What we handle for you
Your MyPandos administrator sets up:
- Your domain and mailboxes on MyPandos.
- The DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) that route new mail to us — usually scheduled with you to minimise any gap.
- A copy of your existing mail transferred from your old provider into your new mailbox (folders and all), using your old-account credentials or an app password you provide. Nothing is deleted at the old provider during this.
What you do
- Before the switch: keep using your current email as normal.
- Give us access to copy your old mail — either your old mailbox password or an app password from the old provider, per mailbox. We only use it to read and copy your mail across.
- On cut-over day: we point your domain's mail to MyPandos. There can be a short window where mail arrives at both old and new during DNS propagation — we reconcile it so nothing is lost.
- After the switch: set up your devices with the new connection settings and app passwords, and sign in to webmail.
Important after cut-over
- Update every device to the new app password. An old phone or laptop still trying the previous password is the number-one cause of “my email suddenly stopped” — it can get your connection temporarily blocked.
- Leave your old account open for a week or two until you've confirmed all mail and folders arrived, then close it.
Timeline
Most migrations complete within a day; large or many mailboxes take longer. Your administrator will give you a schedule and confirm when it's done.
