SSL certificates at myPandos: what we issue
HTTPS and the browser padlock come from an SSL/TLS certificate. Every myPandos hosting plan includes a free one, and you can also buy a validated certificate from our catalogue.
An SSL/TLS certificate does two things for your website: it encrypts the traffic between your visitors and your server, and it proves the site really is the domain it claims to be. Without one, browsers label your site “Not secure”.
The free certificate included with hosting
Free SSL Certificate is a standard feature of myPandos Shared and WordPress Hosting plans. It is a Let's Encrypt certificate, issued and managed through Plesk — the control panel we run.
- You install it yourself from Plesk in a few clicks — see How to install or renew a free SSL certificate in Plesk.
- You can secure the domain with and without www, and protect webmail, in the same step.
- It renews automatically, so there is normally nothing to do afterwards.
For most brochure sites, blogs and small shops, the free certificate is all you need.
Certificates you can buy
myPandos also resells validated certificates. You can browse them in the shop and manage the ones you own under Products → SSL Certificates at dash.mypandos.io. The certificate types we carry are:
| Type | What is checked | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Domain Validation (DV) | That you control the domain | The quickest option; same trust level as the free certificate, plus vendor support and warranty |
| Organization Validation (OV) | Domain control and that your organisation exists | Business and corporate sites |
| Extended Validation (EV) | The strictest vetting of your legal entity | Finance, e-commerce, anywhere identity matters most |
| Wildcard | Domain control | Covers all first-level subdomains of one domain at once |
| Multi-Domain (SAN) | Control of each name | Several different domain names on a single certificate |
Prices, warranty amounts and the number of names each certificate covers are shown on the plan itself in the shop — they differ per product, so always check the plan page rather than assuming.
What ordering a paid certificate needs
- The exact domain name the certificate is for (the “common name”).
- A CSR (Certificate Signing Request), which you generate on the server where the certificate will live — in Plesk, from the domain's SSL/TLS Certificates screen.
- An approver email address that can receive the validation message.
After you order, the certificate goes through Domain Control Validation (DCV) before the authority issues it. Until DCV completes, the service shows as pending in your dashboard.
Where to see your certificates
Open dash.mypandos.io and go to Products → SSL Certificates. Each certificate shows its domain, issuer, issue and expiry dates, installation status and validation status.
