Looking up a domain's WHOIS status
Check any domain's registrar, expiry date, status and nameservers with myPandos's free WHOIS lookup tool.
A WHOIS lookup tells you the public registration details of any domain β useful before buying a domain, when troubleshooting DNS, or to verify a website's authenticity.
Running a lookup
- Go to https://mypandos.io/en/whois.
- Enter the domain name you want to check and search.
What you'll see
- Registrar β which company the domain is registered through.
- Registration date and expiration date β when it was first registered and when it's next due.
- Update date β the last time the registration record changed.
- Status codes β the domain's EPP status, such as whether it's locked, active, or in one of the post-expiry stages.
- Name servers β which DNS provider currently answers for the domain.
- A comprehensive WHOIS section with the registry's full raw record, for anyone who wants the complete detail.
If the domain has privacy protection enabled, the contact name, address, phone and email fields will show the privacy provider's proxy details instead of the registrant's β see the article on domain privacy for what that means.
What it's useful for
- Domain research β checking who owns a domain and when it's due for renewal.
- Security checks β verifying a site is what it claims to be before you trust it.
- Troubleshooting β confirming a domain's nameservers actually point where you expect.
Checking a domain you own with myPandos
For a domain in your own account, you can also see its registration details, including full contact information, from its WHOIS tab in your dashboard at https://dash.mypandos.io β you don't need the public tool for domains you manage yourself.
